Due Vigne 2006 Dolcetto
|
Dolcetto, one of the three classic varietals grown in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy, expresses its heritage on the Musso Family Vineyard in the hills of El Dorado County. Harvested at perfect ripeness with yields restricted to less than 5 pounds per vine, the two specially selected Italian clones offer bright red fruits and a touch of French oak in the nose.
Masses of red cherries and raspberries greet the nose and offer immediate gratification. Always soft on the palate but continuing its fruit forward ways with intense cherry, raspberry and cranberry followed by a hint of clove and a soft spicy note that works so well with tomato based Italian foods.
