This unconventional blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay & Viognier will impress even the toughest connoisseur and has converted many “non white drinkers”. Our white begins with bright lemon drop citrus notes, a bounty of fresh plumeria & jasmine followed by hints of pineapple and tropical fruits. The Viognier leads on the palate laying down a lush and viscous body of fresh nectarines and exotic floral and the Chardonnay offers Burgundian weight with notes of lemon meringue pie. The mid palate builds with perfectly balanced acidity and structure, and glides to a clean, refreshing, stoney finish which persists long after your last sip. |

| Harvest Notes: | Like all of our wines, these delicate white varietals are carefully hard harvested early in the cool hours of the morning into .5-ton macro bin boxes. The fruit is put direct to press to ensure the freshest and most immediate pressing of the undamaged whole clusters. The juice is gently transferred to a 48-hour oxidative settling tank and then racked off the gross lees to barrels where it begins alcoholic fermentation and barrel ageing. Total fermentation time averages 15 days, and then followed by quiet sur lie ageing undisturbed, except on occasion when the lees are gently stirred for further mid palate development. Around 20% of the Chardonnay saw malolactic fermentation. Total months in barrel 9. |

| Winemakers Notes: | In the case of blended wines there are a multitude of wonderful and flavorful variables. Blend 23 is a unique wine in many ways. This wine consists of five different lots. We crafted two styles of Chardonnay from these Carneros vineyards – a clean and bright wine reminiscent of Burgundy and a rich, creamy wine indicative of Napa Valley. The harmonious blending of the two styles creates a perfect balance and a unique flavor profile. Barrel fermented in 50% new French oak we captured the best of both worlds. The Viognier offers this wine a luscious viscosity and a multitude of tropical nuances. The Sauvignon Blanc gives Blend 23 its backbone – a steely minerality and bright flavor with just the right punch of acidity. |
