Wow! For 2005 this Blend is firing on all cylinders! This “Super Tuscan” inspired wine with a touch of Petite Sirah shows a wonderful, deep black/blue color. The Sangiovese from Juliana vineyard in Pope Valley thrives in Tuscan like conditions and enjoys most of its days bathed in the sun. True to our philosophy we blended this venerable varietal with two powerful and traditional Bordeaux varietals, Merlot and Cabernet from Biale & To Kalon vineyards. |

| Tasting Notes: | This wine possesses wonderful red rock candy, cassis and red stone fruit aromas with a touch of French Oak vanillin for thickening the nose. On the palate are more bright cherry fruit and impressive acid and tannin structure. This is not a “heady” or “syrupy” wine but one with an array of old world influenced flavors and fine balance. |

| Winemakers Notes: | Carefully de-stemmed, the whole berries are moved to a tank for a three day cold soak prior to the onset of fermentation. Total fermentation time was 14 days. Each vineyard lot is individually vinified from fermentation to barrel and allowed to mature singly. The process culminates in blending sessions which take countless hours of intense concentration and a keen interest in allowing each component not only express its unique characteristics, but harmonize and complement the wine as a whole. Blend 24 sees a blend of 1/3rd new French and Hungarian barrels. Individual lots rest for 18 months and the final Blend for an additional two month period. |
