Brian Graham, Proprietor and Winemaker, believes that the vineyard is absolutely the most important factor when creating a wine. “For me, it’s the vineyard that creates the quality and a wine’s uniqueness. Really it’s all about the vineyards.”

On the nose, aromas of blueberry, cherries, boysenberry, Rose petals, light caramel, vanilla, marshmallow and a touch of dusty brambles play together. The entry is soft with a fuller, lush mid-palate of berry fruit, white pepper, cinnamon, vanilla which finishes smoothly, with the acids recoating the palate, enticing you into another sip.

Situated 1100 feet above the Napa Valley floor, well above the cold morning fog, this Diamond Mountain vineyard has short cool mornings and long warm days. Concealed in a bowl at the top of the mountain, the soils here are very shallow and filled with shale, fractured rock and volcanic ash. This environment yields the qualities most prized among mountain fruit.

After picking, the grapes were sorted and de-stemmed into a fermentation tank where they rested and soaked for 6 days. After a warm fermentation the wine went through extended maceration for 22 additional days. Aged in only French Oak barrels for 26 months with no fining nor filtering. We then bottle aged the wine almost 2 years so that the wine was perfect upon release.

This wine was aged an additional 9 months in the barrel to create a ultra plush, rich, full-bodied Malbec with amazing length and elegance, its cellar aging potential is at least 10 to 12 years.
