The fruit for this wine was harvested exclusively from our estate vineyard in Napa Valley. This vineyard, north of Napa, is something special. It is bordered on the north by Dry Creek, which has left its legacy by distributing sandy and gravelly soil throughout the vineyard. These soils translate into ideal growing conditions for the fruit, yielding deep, concentrated and intense flavors in the wine. This unique estate vineyard, the Robert Williamson Family Estate, is located in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley.

After picking, the grapes were sorted and de-stemmed and then placed into a fermentation tank where they rested and soaked for 4 days prior to fermentation. After fermentation, 19 months aging in 100% French Oak barrels, with minimal intervention, helped to create this voluptuous wine with a classic style, yet showcasing its California heritage.

Nose: Rose petals, briary red fruits with clove, cinnamon and cedar chest.

Palate: A seamless transition from the nose leads to a voluptuous mid-palate of ripe black plums and cherries, leading into a long soft finish of dark chocolate, clove and vanilla bean.

Winemaker Notes
Our winemaker, Brian Graham, believes that the vineyard is absolutely the most important factor when creating a wine. “For me, it’s the vineyard that creates the quality and a wine’s uniqueness. Really, it’s all about the vineyards.”
